Blizzard is rapidly creating more servers for World of Warcraft Classic

Last week, Blizzard warned players that certain World of Warcraft Classic realms could reach login queues of over 10,000 players. With World of Warcraft Classic’s official North American launch on Monday evening, thousands of players proved Blizzard right. As Blizzard said in their original warning, the Classic servers hold thousands more players than original Vanilla World of Warcraft servers ever did. Now, nearly every World of Warcraft Classic server has a login queue of several thousand.

That could be a long wait each and every time you want to log in (or come back from taking a break), so Blizzard is asking people to move off of popular servers like Herod and onto newly created ones. The publisher even created Stalagg last week, but now it's rapidly opening up more today on the doorstep of Classic's launch: Flamelash (PVP), Gandling (PVP), Mograine (PVP), Nethergarde Keep, and Razorgore. All of those are available for early creation/character parking at 1PM ET (so now). Also, in even bigger news, Blizzard is removing the "three character" creation limit, enhancing it to 10 per realm, with a 50 total character limit across all realms. For those lucky enough to be playing WoW Classic early, Blizzard said if players see servers marked with "Full" or "High" population, they should try to play on any of the new realms. "We urge players on realms marked Full or High to plan to play on one of these new realms to avoid the longest queues, and to help spread the player population as evenly as possible and provide the best play experience for everyone," Blizzard said.
